Welcome to Saber Wrestling! Since 1937 we have had continuous wrestling in the Central DeWitt Community School District. The towns of DeWitt, Grand Mound, Low Moor and Welton comprise our district. Central DeWitt Community Schools are located in DeWitt, IA, situated on the far eastern side of the state and 20 miles north of the Quad Cities.
Our wrestling program includes a K-8 Sabertooth Wrestling Club, a Central DeWitt Middle School Program for 7th & 8th grade, the Central DeWitt High School Program, and the Millennium Freestyle/Greco Wrestling Club.
What makes wrestling unique is that anyone can become successful. By competing against individuals of the same weight, a wrestler's size is not the issue that it may be in other sports such as football and basketball.
Wrestling allows young people to develop important qualities such as self-confidence, sportsmanship, work ethic and leadership skills. By developing agility, balance, reflexes and strength, wrestlers often dramatically improve their ability to perform in other sports as well.
Wrestling isn’t about winning, it is about the desire to win. It isn’t about success, but rather the determination to succeed. Becoming a successful wrestler means becoming all that you possibly can -- so become a part of the Saber Wrestling Tradition today!
