MATT OHNEMUS
Head Coach

After serving as assistant coach for 7 years, Coach Ohnemus took the helm as head wrestling coach for the Sabers in 2016. A 2001 graduate of Central himself, Coach Ohnemus returned to DeWitt in 2009 after four years of teaching and living in Chicago, Illinois. Currently he is an Instructional Coach in the Central DeWitt District. He was a four-year letter winner for the Sabers and qualified for the Individual State Wrestling Tournament during his senior season. Coach Ohnemus was a 2-time Big Bend Conference finalist and 2001 Big Bend Conference Champion. Following his time at Central, he earned a B.A. in education from the University of Iowa in 2006 and M.A.Ed. from the University of Northern Iowa in 2015. Coach Ohnemus and his wife Heather reside in DeWitt with their three children Eloise, Brooks and Caroline.

ANDY KRUSE
Assistant Coach

A 1999 graduate of North Scott High School, Coach Kruse joined Central’s program in 2013. Prior to Central, Coach Kruse spent his previous 6 years as a part of the North Scott Lancer’s staff. While competing for the Lancers himself, Coach Kruse was a senior captain on the program’s first-ever State Dual Team and a three-time individual state qualifier as well. Following High school, Coach Kruse was a National Tournament Qualifier at Mount St. Clair University in Clinton, Iowa. Upon Mount St. Clair's dissolution, he transferred to the University of Northern Iowa where he was a member of two NCAA Top-10 finishing teams. Coach Kruse graduated from UNI with a bachelor's in social science as well as his teaching endorsement. Presently, he makes a living through his own family farm in addition to a second farm in Scott County. He resides with his wife Jenny.

CAMERON DONOVAN
Assistant Coach

A 2013 graduate of Central DeWitt High School, Coach Donovan returned to DeWitt in 2019 after two years of teaching, coaching, and living in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area. While going through high school, he was a four-year letter winner for the Sabers and Qualified for the Individual State Wrestling Tournament during his senior season. Coach Donovan also was an All-State football player and a captain on the 2012 State Quarterfinalist Saber Football team. Following his time at Central DeWitt, he earned a B.A. in History and Education from the University of Iowa in 2017. During that time, he served on staff with the Iowa City High School and Junior High wrestling teams. Following graduation, he taught Social Studies and coached wrestling at Cedar Rapids Prairie High School for 2 years. Presently, he is a Social Studies Teacher at Central DeWitt High School while also coaching football. He and his wife, Mikayla, currently reside in DeWitt with their daughters Clara and Penny.

DON SALYARS
Volunteer Assistant Coach

Following nine seasons as a volunteer, Coach Salyars became an official staff member for Central in 2011. Beginning in 2013 he again returned to the role of volunteer coach within the Central Program. Prior to his time working with the high school, Coach Salyars served as a youth coach within the Sabertooth Wrestling Club. Don is a graduate of Central High School where he played football and wrestled. He was a State Tournament Qualifier in 1982 and in 1983 became just the second State Champion in school history. Don subsequently attended Cornell College where he wrestled.

GREG GREEN
Volunteer Assistant Coach

Since 2013 Coach Green has been a volunteer assistant with the Central Wrestling program. A 2002 graduate of North Scott High School, Greg enjoyed a distinguished wrestling career while there. His list of accomplishments includes: 2-time Mississippi Athletic Conference Champion, 4-time District Champion, and North Scott’s first ever 4-time State Tournament Qualifier, where he would twice place 5th. Greg also was a captain on both the wrestling and football teams. Following North Scott, Greg attended the University of Northern Iowa where he was a 4-time intramural wrestling champion and served as wrestling coach at the K-8 parochial school Blessed Sacrament. He graduated in 2006 with a degree in Management Information Systems and is currently employed as a Systems Analyst for the Moline School District in Moline, Illinois. Prior to joining Central’s staff, Greg volunteered for two years in the North Scott wrestling room. He and his wife Sara reside in DeWitt with their four children, Grace, Cael, Kennedi and Hudson.

GARRETT SELIGMAN

Coached by Iowa legend Dan Mashek, Seligman was a 3-year letterwinner for the North Scott Lancers and qualified for the 2009 State Tournament his senior year. Coach Seligman presently resides in Maysville where he is a carpenter with his family’s business.
